Welcome to the online exhibition of
Anoma Wijewardene
Anoma Wijewardene, who studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art in London, has held solo exhibitions in Sydney, New Delhi and Colombo. She has exhibited in group shows internationally in London, Kuala Lumpur, Brisbane and Singapore.
The works range from mixed media to digital art and video installation..
Inspired by the tussle between man and environment, between faiths and peoples, they explore the connection between different worlds; our internal landscape and nature, the material world versus the spiritual realm.
They are abstract reflections upon isolation, transformation, reconciliation and the freedom of the spirit. They depict man’s existentialist anxieties and contemporary concerns about the human condition.
Anoma was a visiting lecturer at several UK universities, including Central Saint Martins, and has received awards both for her paintings and designs, which were shown in Europe, New York and Tokyo.
